South Atlantic Conference Announces WePlayed Sports Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played during week twelve of the 2024 season. Newberry's Scott Reed was named the Offensive Player of the Week and teammate Jack Travassos was named the Defensive Player of the Week, while Lenoir-Rhyne's Rob Pensabene was named the Specialist of the Week.

Reed, a senior from Whitby, Ontario, closed the regular season with a six-goal game on the road against Anderson in Newberry's 14-12 win which clinched the No. 4 seed and a home game in the SAC Tournament Quarterfinal. Reed also added three ground balls and an assist in the victory.

Travassos, a senior from Burlington, Ontario, caused two turnovers and grabbed four ground balls in the victory over Anderson. This is the second Defensive Player of the Week this season for Travassos.  

Pensabene, a senior from Mount Laurel, N.J., recorded a .786 save percentage in a 20-5 victory over Catawba. He tallied his eighth double-digit save performance of the season with his 11 stops and allowed just three goals as the Bears secured the No. 2 seed and a bye in the SAC Tournament. This is the third Specialist of the Week award for Pensabene.
