Trio of SAC Women's Soccer Team Advance to NCAA Postseason Play
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) -- Three South Atlantic Conference teams were announced as part of the 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Tournament field as announced by the NCAA this evening. Lenoir-Rhyne leads the way as the region's No. 2 seed.
The Bears, who won a second straight SAC Tournament Championships yesterday, earned the No. 2 seed and will host a four-team opening weekend. The Bears went 13-1-5 on the year and were in the top 10 nationally for the majority of the season. They will take on No. 7 seed Lander.
Catawba was announced as the No. 4 seed after posting a 10-2-5 record this season. The Catawba Indians will take on fifth-seed Flagler in the First Round and that game will be played on the campus of No. 1 seed Columbus St.
Wingate is the final SAC representative as the No. 6 seed. The regular season champions will take on No. 3 seed North Georgia who finished 11-3-3. That game will take place at Lenoir-Rhyne.
