The South Atlantic Conference has announced the hiring of Ariyanna Mason as Assistant Commissioner for Championships, Commissioner Patrick Britz announced today.
Mason brings experience at the NCAA Division I, II and III levels, along with both campus and conference office backgrounds, to the SAC office. She most recently served as Marketing & Fan Engagement Assistant at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi Athletics, where she supported marketing strategies to drive attendance and engagement across multiple Division I programs. She managed game day presentation operations for more than 100 home events, including run-of-show production, sponsor activations, themed initiatives and in-game entertainment, while collaborating with campus and community partners to elevate the fan experience.
Prior to her time at Texas A&M–Corpus Christi, Mason was the Coordinator of Events, Operations, and Student-Athlete Development at Averett University. In that role, she developed and led programming for more than 20 Division III teams, focusing on leadership development, career readiness and community engagement. She also served as advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and managed event logistics, facility coordination and cross-campus partnerships to support athletic and institutional events.
Mason also gained conference office experience as Sports Services Coordinator with the Gulf South Conference. While there, she supported 13 member institutions through research, officiating coordination and administrative duties. She oversaw logistics and game-day operations for conference championship events, including hospitality, ticketing, run-of-show management and post-event evaluations, and served as the primary liaison for the conference SAAC, organizing initiatives and the SAAC Leadership Summit.
"We are thrilled to add Ariyanna as an Assistant Commissioner for the SAC," said Britz. "She has great experience in event management and marketing and fan engagement, which will allow us to continue to be a premier Division II conference. We are confident Ariyanna will be a tremendous asset to the SAC office staff and to the member institutions."
"Division II's balance of athletic competitiveness, academic achievement, and commitment to the holistic student-athlete experience is what makes this level of college athletics so special," said Mason. "I am excited to return to a Division II conference office role where I can contribute championship administration and conference-wide initiatives while working directly with member institutions to support the mission of the South Atlantic Conference."
In her new role, Mason will oversee the administration and execution of the SAC's championship events across its 23 sports, working closely with host institutions and campus administrators to ensure a first-class experience for student-athletes, coaches and fans. She will also assist with strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing championship operations and elevating the Conference's overall brand.
A native of Mississippi, Mason earned her MBA with a concentration in Leadership from Averett University, graduating with a 3.9 GPA. She received her bachelor's degree in sport management from Southeastern Louisiana University, where she was named the Outstanding Graduate Award recipient.
The South Atlantic Conference is a proud NCAA Division II conference sponsoring 23 sports and is committed to excellence in athletics, academics and community engagement.
