The South Atlantic Conference and AstroTurf Present Senior Spotlights Featuring Lenoir-Rhyne Lacrosse and Track & Field
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – In light of the recent events of the COVID-19 pandemic that canceled the remainder of the 2020 South Atlantic Conference spring sports seasons, the SAC along with its corporate partner AstroTurf, will be presenting the SAC AstroTurf Senior Spotlights. These highlights will showcase the spring sports teams at each of our 12 institutions and will give fans a brief overview of the team's shortened season, while highlighting the 2020 senior student-athletes on each team.
We continue our AstroTurf Senior Spotlights with the Lenoir-Rhyne University Bears and the men's and women's lacrosse teams and men's and women's track & field teams.
WOMEN'S LACROSSE
The Bears women's lacrosse team ended the 2020 season with a 4-2 overall record and a 2-0 mark in conference play. Both of Lenoir-Rhyne's losses came to ranked foes including a narrow 16-15 loss against No. 23 Saint Leo.
In their two conference games, the Bears won by an average of 12.5 goals. In a season-opening win over Belmont Abbey, Alyssa Sack had a performance for the ages. Sack scored eight goals on eight shots to earn league player of the week honors.
Seven seniors led the way for the Bears. Attacker Cathleen Gaffney became the Lenoir-Rhyne all-time leader in assists in 2020. She finished the year with 12 goals and 14 assists to go with seven ground balls.
Defender Madison Prkna played and started in four games picking up six ground balls, one caused turnover, and one draw control.
Attacker Adriana Williams started all six games finishing the season with five goals and six assists and added six ground balls.
Midfielder Michelle Tang started all six games. She had seven goals and three assists and was second on the team with 20 draw controls and 10 ground balls.
Defender Morgan Ulvenes started all six games, had seven ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
Goalie Cristie Rowland played in four games and started once, making 13 saves on the year.
Midfielder Frances Williams played in five games, starting twice. She scored a pair of goals and had 17 draw controls with10 caused turnovers.

MEN'S LACROSSE
The Lenoir-Rhyne men's lacrosse team finished out 2020 with a 6-1 record overall. In their final 12 days of the season, the Bears beat No. 3 Adelphi 17-16 and No. 1 Limestone 18-16, handing Limestone their first loss in 18 regular season games.
Led by eight seniors, the Bears ranked tenth in the nation in scoring offense at 15.57 goals per game and Eric Dickinson's 5.43 points per game ranked seventh in Division II. Additionally, Dickinson broke the SAC records for career points and career goals as the Bears finished the season ranked No. 5 in the nation.
Attackman Hunter Savitcheff, unfortunately, suffered an injury in the first game of the season.
Defenseman Austin Wilson played in five games and had a pair of ground balls.
Midfielder Bowen Collins played in all seven games and finished third on the team with 13 points and had team-high three man-up goals.
Defenseman Tyler Bane started all seven games. He led the team with 11 caused turnovers and had 14 ground balls.
Attackman Edward Tate started all seven games, had eight goals and four assists to go with 12 ground balls.
Defenseman Justin Russell did not play in 2020.
Midfielder Kyle Landis played in five games and had a goal and two assists.
Attackman Dickinson scored 21 goals and added 17 assists for team-high 38 points. He was twice named SAC Offensive Player of the Week during the 2020 season.

WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
After capturing the first SAC championship in outdoor women's track and field history in 2019, the Bears were ready to defend that crown in 2020. Unfortunately, the outdoor season was cut short before it even started.
Led by six seniors, the Bears posted a second place finish at the 2020 SAC Indoor Championship.
Autumn Drayton, the 2019 Outdoor Field Athlete of the Meet at SAC Championship, she was named All-Region in Indoor Track in both weight throw and shot put.
Annelle Grealis had the sixth-best high jump of the year during the indoor season with a 1.46-meter jump at the JDL College Kick-Off.
Madison Lane had the fifth-best time in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:46.04.
Kayonna Lewis was named All-Region in the indoor season and finished fourth in the triple jump at the SAC Championship with a leap of 11.19 meters.
Jocelyn Lowe was the 2020 SAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Elite 20 winner.
Brooke Zeman posted the fourth-best time in the 5,000-meter and the fifth-best in 3,000-meter during the indoor season.

MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
The Lenoir-Rhyne men's track & field team is coming off an indoor season that saw them finish in third place at the 2020 SAC Championships. The Bears finished second in the 2019 SAC Outdoor Championship and were led by seven seniors.
Josh Adkins earned All-Region indoor honors in DMR. He was part of the DMR team that finished first at the 2020 SAC Championship. Additionally, he was a Third Team Academic All-American in 2019.
Corbin Boyles is a distance runner who also competed in cross country.
Denzal Gilmore is a sprinter.
Petar Ivackovic was an All-Region indoor DMR selection. He was part of the DMR team that finished first at 2020 SAC Championship.
Peyton Jones was the 2018 SAC Elite 20 Award winner.
P.J. Lotharp was a two-time All-American sprinter and a four-time All-Region performer. He was named Southeast Region Track Athlete of the Year in 2019.
Kaynmon Maddox is a sprinter who qualified for 2019 NCAA Championships as a member of the 4x100 meter relay team that finished eleventh.
