2021 SAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships Set for Saturday, October 23

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – It has been two years since the last South Atlantic Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships were held at Wingate University in 2019, but on Saturday (October 23) teams will once again toe the starting line to race for the 2021 SAC Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships.

This year's championships will be hosted by Queens University of Charlotte and will be run at McAlpine Creek Park in Charlotte, N.C. The men will be first to race with their 8k meet beginning at 9 a.m., followed by the women's 6k race at 10:30 a.m.

Leading the way in this year's men's race will be two nationally ranked teams, No. 9 Wingate and No. 18 Queens. In addition to both teams being nationally ranked they are ranked No. 1 (Wingate) and No. 2 (Queens) in the Southeast Region. Also ranked regionally are Anderson at No. 4, Catawba at No. 5, and Lincoln Memorial at No. 8.

A trio of women's teams will highlight the second race of the day with Queens (No. 8), Wingate (No. 11), and Lenoir-Rhyne (No. 29) all being nationally ranked. In addition to their national ranking, they are also the top three teams in the Southeast region, followed by Anderson at No. 4, Catawba at No. 9, and Lincoln Memorial at No. 10.
