Tusculum’s Hanger Named to Academic All-District Baseball Team
BEREA, Ohio --- Tusculum College's George Hanger has been named to the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV College Division Baseball Team.
Hanger, a senior from Staunton, Va., was tabbed to the All-District Second Team as a designated hitter. Hanger is a three-time All-South Atlantic Conference honoree, including this year where he garnered Second Team accolades. He is third on the team with a .364 batting average and is the holder of numerous school career records including hits, at-bats, runs batted in and sacrifice flies.
Hanger has a 3.42 cumulative grade point average majoring in Business Administration. He is a member of the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
In 2005, Hanger has posted 13 doubles and 39 runs batted in, while helping Tusculum College to a South Atlantic Conference Championship and a SAC Tournament title.
The Academic All-District team is selected by member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) from institutions within District IV, which includes the states of Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.
Tusculum College, affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, USA,
is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference which
is comprised of eight colleges and universities in Tennessee, North
Carolina and South Carolina
