SAC Baseball Weekly Awards go to Tusculum’s Henriksen, Catawba’s Jankowski
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Tusculum second baseman Matt Henriksen and Catawba pitcher JJ Jankowski have been selected as the SAC baseball weekly award winners, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Henriksen was named the conference's Player of the Week, while Jankowski earns Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this season.
Henriksen had a big week for Tusculum, which at 10-0 is off the best start in program history. In four games, the junior batted .600 with four doubles, three RBI and three walks. He also scored nine runs on the week.
Henriksen's biggest game came in the Pioneers' SAC opener against Wingate on Friday, as the Hingham, Mass., native finished with three hits - including a double - and two RBI. He also recorded three hits on Wednesday against Shepherd.

Jankowski, meanwhile, continued his hot start for Catawba by throwing seven strong innings on Saturday in a no-decision against Mars Hill.
The senior gave up just one run in the game, striking out 11 while walking none. He allowed just five hits - only one of which went for extra bases.
In three starts this season, Jankowski has a 1.71 ERA and an opponent batting average of .205.
