Brevard’s Stuart, Tusculum’s Goodman Earn SAC Baseball Weekly Awards
ROCK HILL, S.C. - After another exciting week of SAC baseball, Brevard's Champ Stuart has been tabbed SAC Player of the Week, while Tusculum's Craig Goodman was selected SAC Pitcher of the Week for games between April 2-8, it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
For the week, Stuart posted a .643 average, adding eight runs and six RBI. The sophomore was a key contributor in the 8-6 victory over Division I Gardner-Webb, Brevard's first win over a Division I opponent in school history. Stuart was two-for-four in the game, driving home two runs.
In the home series against Wingate, the Bimini, Bahamas native totaled seven hits in three games, including a two-run home run as the Tornados went on to sweep the Bulldogs. Stuart currently leads the conference with a .449 average, 39 runs scored and 12 stolen bases.

In the conference's highlighted series of the weekend, Craig Goodman tossed a complete-game seven-hitter to lead No. 3 Tusculum to a 4-3 victory over No. 16 Catawba. The senior gave up seven hits and retired 18 of the last 20 Catawba hitters, striking out six and walking just three.
Goodman is 8-0 on the season and is now third all-time in wins at Tusculum.
