Tusculum’s Stallings, Newberry’s McElwee Earn Final SAC Baseball Weekly Awards
ROCK HILL, SC - In the final week of the SAC Baseball season, Tusculum's Cade Stallings has been selected as the SAC Baseball Player of the Week, while Newberry's Josh McElwee was named SAC Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the SAC office on Monday.
Stallings finished 12-for-23 on the week, tallying at least one hit in all five contests. The junior also added four doubles, two home runs and drove in 10 runners, as Tusculum captured its fifth SAC regular season title in the program's history.
On the season, Stallings is hitting .375 and leads the Pioneers with 53 RBIs.

In McElwee's final start of the regular season, the senior went six innings against Carson-Newman and gave up just three hits and a lone unearned run while striking out eight Eagle batters. The senior earned the victory for the Wolves, clinching his team a spot in the conference tournament this weekend.
McElwee is currently 5-2 on the year and holds a 2.79 ERA.
