Catawba’s Lomascolo Named Tino Martinez Award Semifinalist

Finalists for the award will be selected on May 20, with the winner then being announced at the NCAA Division II Baseball World Series, which runs May 25 through June 1.
Lomascolo was named the SAC Pitcher of the Year after winning 10 games for the SAC regular-season champion Indians. He led the nation with 123 strikeouts, and ranked fourth in the conference with a 2.14 ERA.
The left hander also led the SAC with 92.2 innings pitched and finished the season with a 5.35 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Opponents hit just .202 against the senior in 2013.
Lomascolo lasted seven or more innings on 10 occasions this season, and allowed no earned runs in five starts.
