MARSHALL, Minn. – Catawba first baseman Chris Dula and starting pitcher Nick Lomascolo have been selected to the 2013 Daktronics Baseball All-America Team, it was announced on Friday.
Dula was selected to the Daktronics All-America First Team, while Lomascolo earned honorable mention accolades. Earlier this spring, Dula earned SAC Player of the Year honors and Lomascolo was the conference's Pitcher of the Year after leading Catawba to a regular-season league title.
Dula finished the year atop or tied atop each of the SAC's triple-crown categories, leading the conference with a .402 average, 14 home runs and tying for the lead with 54 RBI. His home run total is currently tied for sixth in the nation, while his .728 slugging percentage also ranked sixth.
Last week, Dula was picked as the Southeast Region Player of the Year by Daktronics.
Lomascolo, meanwhile, won 10 games in 2013, which tied for the most in the SAC. He also ranked fourth in the conference with a 2.14 ERA, and his 123 strikeouts led the league and rank second in the nation.
The left-hander allowed opponents to hit just .202, and finished with a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 5.35.
