INDIANPOLIS – Catawba has been seeded No. 6 in the 2014 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship bracket, which was announced on Sunday night.
All games of the regional will be played at top-seeded Lander, which will also be the Indians' opponent in the opening round. The regional will run May 15-18, with the winners advancing to the World Series.
Catawba enters the tournament 33-18 overall. The Indians won a share of the SAC regular-season title by going 20-7 in conference games, and then went on to claim the Food Lion SAC Championship title.
The conference tournament championship clinched an automatic bid into the bracket for Catawba. The program will be looking to replicate its 2012 NCAA Championship run that resulted in a trip to the World Series.
