The South Atlantic Conference Sweeps Baseball Regional Honors for the Second-Straight Week

PEMBROKE, N.C. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has released its first weekly NCAA Division II Southeast Region Players of the Week awards for the week of February 20-26, 2017.  The Hitter of the Week is Wingate senior Bradley Brown, while the Pitcher of the Week is Lenoir-Rhyne senior Thomas St. Clair.
 

Bradley Brown (Wingate/Rockingham, N.C.) Posted six hits, including three home runs, and 11 RBI to lead the Bulldogs to a 3-1 record last week, including a South Atlantic Conference series sweep over Anderson.  In the Anderson series, Brown homered in three-straight games and finished the series with a pair of multiple-hit games.  In game one of the double-header on March 4, he drove in six runs on three hits.  He slugged 1.000 percent in the four-game span and finished the week with a .400 average at the plate.

 

Thomas St. Clair (Lenoir-Rhyne/Winston-Salem, N.C.) Threw his second-straight complete game win in a 6-2 victory over Catawba on March 4.  He allowed just one earned run, while striking out 16 Catawba batters.
