The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, Mar. 28

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lincoln Memorial's Timmy Wages was tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Baseball Player of the Week, while Evan Estridge of Newberry was tabbed the Astroturf South Atlantic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played March 20-26, the League announced today.

Wages, a senior from Moline, Ill., batted .455 with three home runs, seven RBI and five hits to lead Lincoln Memorial to a series win over then No. 17 Catawba last week.  He posted multiple RBI in all three contests to go along with a homer in all three games.  He slugged 1.364 in the three-game span and finished the series with an on base percentage of .538.  The series win marked the first time the Railsplitters have taken a series from Catawba since the 2014 season.  The honor marks his first Player of the Week nod this season.

Estridge, a freshman from Chapin, S.C., struck out a career-best 11 hitters in a complete game shutout win over Mars Hill on March 25.  He gave up just three hits in his outing without a single Lion advancing past first base.  Estridge walked just one hitter in his start.  The honor marks his first Pitcher of the Week nod this season.
