Newberry’s Evan Estridge Tabbed NCBWA SE Regional Pitcher of the Week

PEMBROKE, N.C. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has released its sixth weekly NCAA Division II Southeast Region Players of the Week awards for the week of March 20-26, 2017. 

Newberry's Evan Estridge earned Pitcher of the Week honors.

Evan Estridge (Newberry/Chapin, S.C.) Struck out a career-best 11 hitters in a complete game shutout win over Mars Hill on March 25.  He gave up just three hits in his outing without a single Lion advancing past first base.  Estridge walked just one hitter in his start.

The award marks the third Region Pitcher of the Week honor and sixth total Regional of the Week award.
