Newberry, Catawba and Lincoln Memorial Earn Spots in NCAA DII Southeast Regional; Newberry to Host
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The NCAA Division II Baseball Committee announced its field of 56 teams that will participate in the 2019 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship on Sunday (May 12). Newberry, Catawba and Lincoln Memorial will represent the South Atlantic Conference in the double-elimination tournament, which will be held at 16 regional sites May 16-18.
Newberry earned the No. 2 seed, and the Wolves will be a sub-regional host site, with No. 3 Catawba and No. 6 Young Harris traveling to Newberry, S.C.
The other sub-regional will be played at No. 1 seed North Greenville in Tigerville, S.C., featuring No. 4 seed Mount Olive and No. 5 seed Lincoln Memorial.
Winners of the sub-regional sites will advance to the best of three-series Southeast Regional Final May 24-25.
The winners of the eight regionals will advance to the finals of the 2019 NCAA DII Baseball Championship will take place at the USA Baseball National Training Center in Cary, N.C., June 1-8.
