Catawba's Poteat Named NCBWA Southeast Region Player of the Week
Wingate, N.C.----Catawba College senior outfielder Lee Poteat has been named the Southeast Region Player of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), officials announced Tuesday afternoon. Poteat led the Catawba Indians to a 4-0 record last week including a non-conference win over top-ranked North Greenville and a three-game sweep of SAC foe Queens. Poteat hit .563 with a double, two home runs, seven RBIs and seven runs scored. He also stole two bases and had an on-base percentage of .619 and a slugging percentage of 1.000.
Bobrowski tied an FMU school record with 17 strikeouts as he pitched eight innings in a 3-2 win over Young Harris in the opener on Friday.
