Catawba and Wingate Earn Bids to NCAA Southeast Regional
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The NCAA Division II Baseball Committee announced its field of 42 teams that will participate in the 2021 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship on Sunday (May 23). Catawba and Wingate will represent the South Atlantic Conference in the double-elimination tournament, which will be held at eight regional sites May 27-30.
Catawba earned the No. 1 seed, and the 2021 SAC Pilot Flying J Baseball Tournament Champion Bulldogs of Wingate earned the No. 3 seed.
Joining the Catawba and Wingate will be Mount Olive at No. 2, North Greenville at No. 4, UNC Pembroke at No. 5, and Columbus State at No. 6.
The Southeast Regional Tournament will be played at North Greenville University.
The winners of the eight regionals will advance to the finals of the 2021 NCAA DII Baseball Championship which will take place at the USA Baseball National Training Center in Cary, N.C., June 5-12.
