The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Mitch Farris was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Player of the Week, while Lincoln Memorial's Patrick Queener was named AstroTurf Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played during week ten of the 2022 season, the Conference office announced today. 

Farris, a sophomore first baseman from Palm Harbor, Fla., led the No. 2 Bulldogs to a series win over No. 17 Newberry last week. He had a huge week at the plate batting .636 with four home runs, eight runs scored, and 11 RBIs. He finished the week with a .714 on-base percentage and a 1.727 slugging percentage. He also picked up a win on the mound for the Bulldogs in game three versus Newberry as he tossed two innings in relief allowing one earned run on one hit with four strikeouts. 

Queener, a junior right-hander from Brentwood, Tenn., was nearly untouchable in his lone outing last week as he picked up a SAC win against Limestone. He went seven innings and did not allow a single earned run, while scattering four hits with 14 strikeouts.
