The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week Awards

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Seaver King was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Player of the Week, while UVA Wise's Garrett Stiltner was named AstroTurf Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played during week 11 of the 2022 season, the Conference office announced today. 

King, a freshman infielder from Athens, Ga., led the No. 2 Bulldogs to a 5-0 record last week, including a three-game sweep of Tusculum. He batted .579 for the week with a double, a home run, eight runs scored, 10 RBIs, and three stolen bases. He collected multiple hits in four of the five games, finishing the week with a .619 on-base percentage and a .789 slugging percentage.

Stiltner, a junior right-hander from Johnson City, Tenn., allowed just three hits in 11 innings of work last week. Highlighting his week was a three-hit, complete-game shutout victory against Limestone. He did not allow a runner to reach third base the entire game and did not allow a runner to reach second after the first inning. Stiltner closed out the game with seven strikeouts and had nine punchouts total for the week.
