The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week Awards
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens' Nick Brassington was named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Baseball Player of the Week, while Lenoir-Rhyne's Austin Edwards was named AstroTurf Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played during week 12 of the 2022 season, the Conference office announced today.
Brassington, a senior outfielder from Raleigh, N.C., led the Royals to a 4-1 record last week, including a three-game sweep of UVA Wise in SAC action. He batted .375 for the week with two doubles, three home runs, seven runs scored, and nine RBIs. Brassington is now tied for the league lead in homers with 16 for the year and has successfully reached base in 19 straight games and has an eight-game hitting streak.
Edwards, a right-hander from Huxley, Iowa, had a fantastic outing this week as he picked up a 3-1 win over Lincoln Memorial. He threw a complete game, allowing just one run on three hits with 11 strikeouts.
