Emory & Henry's Bradley Named NCBWA Southeast Region Player of the Week
Wingate, N.C.---- Emory & Henry College senior outfielder Tyler Bradley has been named the Southeast Region Player of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), officials announced Tuesday afternoon. University of North Georgia freshman right-hander Matthew Heard is the NCBWA Southeast Region Pitcher of the Week.
Bradley led the Wasps to a 3-1 record last week, including a SAC series win over No. 14 Wingate. Bradley hit .500 for the week with a double, five home runs, 16 RBI, seven runs scored, and two stolen bases. He finished the week with a .556 on-base percentage and a 1.500 slugging percentage.
Heard pitched a complete-game one-hitter as the Nighthawks blanked Augusta 9-0 in the second game of their conference series. He walked four and struck out five in going the distance, holding the Jaguars to a .033 batting average. He got stronger as the game went on, retiring the side in order in the seventh and ninth innings.
