Coker's Hanna and Lenoir-Rhyne's Patrick Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Coker's Kody Hanna was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Baseball Player of the Week, while Lenoir-Rhyne's Andrew Patrick was named Varsity Gems Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played during week eight of the 2023 season, the Conference office announced today.

Hanna, a junior first baseman from Hemingway, S.C., led the Cobras to a 4-1 record last week with a SAC series sweep of Emory & Henry. He batted .476 for the week with five home runs, a double, seven runs scored, 13 RBIs, and a stolen base. Hanna belted three of his home runs in game one of the Cobras' series against Emory & Henry, tying a Coker single-game record. He finished the week with a .560 on-base percentage and a 1.238 slugging percentage.

Patrick, a senior right-hander from Catawba, N.C., was nearly untouchable in his lone outing of the week, leading the Bears to a 4-0 win over Mars Hill. He threw seven innings to earn the win, allowing no runs on four hits with 12 strikeouts and just one walk.
