Lincoln Memorial's Bowen and Wingate's Farris Named South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lincoln Memorial's Cameron Bowen was named the South Atlantic Conference Varsity Gems Baseball Player of the Week, while Wingate's Mitch Farris was named Varsity Gems Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played during week eleven of the 2023 season, the Conference office announced today.

Bowen, a junior designated hitter from Williamsburg, Ky., led the Railsplitters to a 5-0 record last week, including a SAC series sweep of Emory & Henry. He batted .450 for the week with five home runs, 14 RBIs, eight runs scored, and a stolen base. He finished the week with a .542 on-base percentage and a 1.200 slugging percentage.

Farris, a junior left-hander from Palm Harbor, Fla., earned his tenth win of the season last week, defeating UVA Wise 8-2. He threw eight innings allowing two runs on four hits with nine strikeouts.
