Wingate's Farris and King, along with Newberry's Marine and Donovan Earn All-American Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) - Wingate starting pitcher Mitch Farris, along with infielder Seaver King and Newberry short stop Braylin Marine and outfielder Donovan Ford earned All-American honors for their performances during the 2023 season.
Farris and Marine were consensus All-Americans earning honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA), and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA). King was named an All-American by the ABCA and the D2CCA, and Ford was named an All-American by ABCA.
Farris was a first team selection from all three organizations, posting an 11-1 record with a 1.21 ERA, 127 strikeouts, and just 16 walks in 89 innings on the mound.
Marine earned second team honors from the ABCA and was a third team selection with the NCBWA and D2CCA. He batted .420 with five home runs, four triples, 15 doubles, 67 RBIs, and 70 runs scored.
King was a D2CCA first team pick as a utility player and was third team ABCA selection at third base. He batted .414 with 11 homers, five triples, 20 doubles, 53 RBIs, and 63 runs scored.
Ford was an ABCA third team selection in the outfield. He batted .405 with four homers, six triples, 14 doubles, 47 stolen bases, 40 RBIs, and 86 runs scored.
