Catawba Earns No. 1 Seed, Wingate No. 6 in NCAA Baseball Regional
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) -- The 2024 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship field was announced with Catawba earning the No. 1 seed and Wingate getting the No. 6 seed in the Southeast Region as announced this evening.
Catawba garners the top seed in the region with a 40-14 overall record. As the one seed, they host a three-team regional which also features UNC Pembroke and Young Harris. The Indians will have a bye in the double-elimination format which opens on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
Wingate will head to host North Greenville to start a four-team, double-elimination regional. As the six-seed, Wingate draws three-seed Mount Olive in the first round on Thursday at 2 p.m. The other teams in that regional are Georgia College and North Greenville.
