Trio of Outfielders Named NCBWA All-Americans; Barnett and Boles Named First Teamers
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lincoln Memorial's Carson Boles and Wingate's Sean Barnett were named 2024 NCBWA First Team All-American outfielders and Newberry's Donovan Ford was named a Third Team All-American outfielder as announced by the organization this afternoon.
Boles was the SAC Player of the Year and helped LMU to a SAC Championship series appearance. He was the NCBWA Regional Player of the Year and finished the year with a .475 batting average and 1.435 OPS. He hit 15 home runs and drove in 68 runs while scoring 68 times in 50 games played. Boles finished the year as the national leader in batting average.
Barnett led the Bulldogs to a SAC Tournament Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. He hit .349 with 68 runs scored, 26 home runs and 87 runs driven in while playing in 59 games. In the postseason, he homered in eight of nine games, including two in a game against LMU in the SAC Championship series. He was the SAC Tournament MVP. He was second in the nation in home runs and third in DII in RBI.
Ford makes it three All-American outfielders from the SAC as he led the Wolves with a .421 batting average and his 90 hits ranked ninth in the nation and first in the league. Ford scored a league-leading 73 runs and he ranked eighth in the nation with 35 stolen bases.
Wingate's Cam Harris was named an Honorable Mention All-American at second base.
