Lenoir-Rhyne's McPeak Named South Atlantic Conference Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lenoir-Rhyne's Tyler McPeak was voted the 2024 South Atlantic Conference Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the Conference office announced today.
The South Atlantic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award is presented annually to one student-athlete in each of the Conference's championship sports and is voted on by the SAC's Faculty Athletic Representatives Committee. The winners are selected based on their achievements in academics, athletics, service, and leadership.
McPeak, a graduate student from Denver, N.C., holds a 3.7 grade point average as he gets his master's in business administration.
On the field, McPeak led LR with a .388 batting average and 1.146 OPS. He also led the squad with 71 hits and finished second on the team with 59 RBI and 12 home runs. He was named Second Team All-Conference in 2024 and a First Team selection in 2023. He broke the LR single-season record for home runs with 18 last year.
Off the field, he volunteered at Jenkins Elementary School last year as well as Granite Falls Elementary School. Each of the past two years, he was a volunteer at Lenoir-Rhyne's annual 828 Day of community engagement.
