Four SAC Baseball Players Named D2CCA All-Americans
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference placed four student-athletes on the 2026 NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Baseball All-America Teams, the organization announced Thursday.
Leading the way for the SAC was Brandon Crabtree from Catawba College and Jalen Evans from Wingate University, who each earned Second Team All-America honors. Matt Procopio from Lenoir-Rhyne University and Ben Karpowicz from Wingate University were named Third Team All-Americans.
Crabtree, a junior first baseman for the Indians, was named to the Second Team after another standout season at the plate for Catawba. Evans, a junior infielder for the Bulldogs, also earned Second Team distinction following a stellar campaign that helped lead Wingate to another successful season.
Procopio, a senior shortstop for the Bears, collected Third Team honors, while Karpowicz, a junior outfielder for Wingate, rounded out the SAC selections on the Third Team.
In addition, Casey Gouge of Catawba earned honorable mention recognition as a starting pitcher.
The D2CCA All-America and All-Region baseball teams are selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) from schools sponsoring NCAA Division II baseball and have been awarded since 2007.
Wingate's two selections led all SAC institutions, while Catawba and Lenoir-Rhyne each added one All-America honoree.
