With the victory, the 15th-ranked Eagles claim at least a share of the program's 20th SAC title. His final touchdown of the day was a 70-yarder, which proved to be the game-winner. The Munford High School graduate also scored on a two-point conversion and caught two passes for 19 yards in C-N's fifth straight win of the season.
Scott, a 6-3, 235-pound senior of Jamestown, S.C., recorded 10 tackles to lead Tusculum to a 33-28 road win at Mars Hill. The Timberland High School graduate recorded three tackles for loss, including a pair of sacks and forced a fumble. Scott established a pair of Tusculum records in the win. He has accounted for 19 tackles for loss in 2008, which is a new TC single-season mark. His 48 career hits behind the line of scrimmage are tied for the most in Tusculum history.
Jones, a 5-9, 160-pound sophomore from Rockingham, N.C., blocked a punt late in the third quarter that set up Catawba's final touchdown in a 24-10 victory over Brevard. Jones' block gave Catawba the ball on the BC 11 with just over four minutes left in the quarter. It was the second block in as many weeks for the Richmond Senior High School graduate.
The South Atlantic Conference Football Players of the Week are selected by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
