The South Atlantic Conference Puts Three Teams in the Super Region II Regional Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted three teams in the NCAA Super Region II Regional Football Rankings, the NCAA announced recently. Catawba came in at No. 5, followed by Carson-Newman at No. 7 and Wingate at No. 9.
Carson-Newman and Catawba are each receiving votes in the American Football Coaches Association Poll. The Eagles are currently ranked No. 27, with Catawba coming in at No. 33.
The Catawba Indians and Carson-Newman are each 6-2 in the Super Region II, while Wingate is close behind at 6-3.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Football Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
