Newberry and Lenoir-Rhyne Advance to NCAA Division II Football Playoffs

ROCK HILL, S.C.  (theSAC.com) – The Newberry Wolves and the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears will represent the South Atlantic Conference in the NCAA Division II Football Championship, the NCAA announced today.

The Wolves will travel to the No. 3 seed West Florida, while the Bears will head to the No. 2 seed Bowie State. Both games will be played on Saturday, Nov. 20.

Newberry finished the regular season with a record of 9-2, capturing the SAC Football Championship, while Lenoir-Rhyne closed out the season with a record of 8-2 overall, winning their last six straight games.

The NCAA Division II Championship game will be played on December 18, at 9 p.m. Eastern time at McKinney ISD Stadium in McKinney, Texas, and will be broadcast live on ESPNU HD/ESPN+.
