Carson-Newman’s Kente Hart Named Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Carson-Newman College's Kente Hart was named South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.
Hart, a senior guard from Evansville, Ind., averaged 18.5 points, four assists and three rebounds in leading the Eagles to a pair of wins last week at home.
On Wednesday, Hart scored 17 points in Carson-Newman's 74-65 win
over Maryville (Tenn.) before a 20-point, six-assist performance in
the Eagles' victory against the Tigers of North Greenville, 79-67,
on Saturday.
Hart also shot 12-for-19 (63 percent) for the week as Carson-Newman upped its record on the year to 5-3.
The SAC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week is voted on by the league's sports information directors.
