Lenoir-Rhyne’s Reggie Bratton Named Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne College's Reggie Bratton was named South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.
Bratton, a junior forward from Charlotte, N.C., averaged 29.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in leading the Bears to league home wins over Carson-Newman (74-70) and Wingate (79-67) last Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.
Bratton started the week with a game-high 26 points to go along
with eight rebounds and hit the game-winning, three-point shot with
1.9 seconds left in the Bears' victory over the Eagles.
The West Charlotte High School graduate topped that performance with 33 points and 15 rebounds (both career-highs) in helping the Bears down the Bulldogs in a first-place SAC showdown.
Bratton, who averages 20.3 points against SAC opponents this year, has helped Lenoir-Rhyne (13-5, 7-1) take over first place in the league standings. L-R, in the midst of a season-high, seven-game winning streak, hosts Tusculum Wednesday at 8 p.m.
The SAC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week is voted on by the league's sports information directors.
