Carson-Newman’s Kente Hart Named Men’s Basketball Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Carson-Newman's Kente Hart was named South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.
Hart, a senior guard from Evansville, Ind., averaged 18.5 points, 6.0 assists and four rebounds in leading Carson-Newman to a pair of wins over Mars Hill (101-93) and Lenoir-Rhyne (82-80) last Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.
The Shawnee Community College transfer started the week with 16
points and seven assists in the Eagles victory on the road against
the Lions before leading all scorers with 21 points while hitting
the game-winning shot at the buzzer in the win over the first-place
Bears at home.
Hart was also a perfect 14-of-14 (100 percent) from the charity stripe and hit three-of-five (60 percent) three-point attempts for the week.
The SAC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week is voted on by the league's sports information directors.
