Wingate’s Sean Barnette Named To Daktronics All-South Atlantic Region First Team
Catawba?s Brian Graves, Wingate?s Justin Baker named to second team
MORROW, Ga. - The 2007 Daktronics All-South Atlantic Region team for men's basketball team was officially released on Monday, and this season's squad has a CIAA (Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association) flavor to it.
Of the 10 players on the first and second teams, six hale for schools in the CIAA. That includes three on the first, where Bowie State's Gill Goodrich was voted as the Daktronics Division II South Atlantic Player of the Year. He's joined on the first team by Wingate's Sean Barnette, St. Augustine's Antonio Fitzgerald, Elizabeth City State's Anthony Hilliard and Augusta State's Tyrekus Bowman.

The second team All-South Atlantic Region team consists of Virginia State's Avis Wyatt, Virginia Union's Brad Byerson, Bowie State's Tyronne Beale, Catawba's Brian Graves and Wingate's Justin Baker.
Goodrich, a 5-foot-10 senior guard from Baltimore, Md., was a two-time All-CIAA selection and the 2007 CIAA Player of the Year. He leads the nation in scoring, averaging 27 points a game. He also led the CIAA in four categories: scoring, assists, steals and free throw percentage.
Goodrich is one of three conference Players of the Year on the first team. In addition to Goodrich, Barnette was the South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year, while Bowman took Player of the Year honors in the Peach Belt Conference.
Barnette helped pace Wingate to the SAC Tournament championship for the second straight season, leading the SAC in scoring at 21.0 points per game, and ranked among the league top 10 leaders in rebounding, assists, free-throw percentage, 3-point percentage, 3-pointers made, blocked shots and defensive rebounds. Bowman paced Augusta State to the Peach Belt regular season title, leading the conference in scoring, leading the PBC and ranked 35th nationally in scoring with 20.4 points per game. He is also ranked in the PBC top 10 in rebounding, field goal percentage, steals and blocks.
Hilliard helped pace Elizabeth City State to the CIAA Tournament championship. He was also selected All-CIAA, averaging 14 points and seven rebounds a game. Fitzgerald was selected All-CIAA, averaging 16 points and six rebounds a game, while shooting 51 percent from the field for St. Augustine's.
