Catawba’s Antonio Houston Named Men’s Basketball Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Catawba College's Antonio Houston has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.
Houston, a sophomore guard from Charlotte, N.C., averaged 25.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, three steals and two assists in leading Catawba to a pair of victories last week.
The East Mecklenburg High School graduate started the week with
17 points in Catawba's 81-71 win at home over Brevard on Wednesday
before scoring a career-high 34 points on 11-of-16 shooting in the
team's 82-77 victory over league-foe Mars Hill on the road
Saturday.
Houston leads Catawba in scoring (19.0 ppg) this year.
The SAC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week is voted on by the league's sports information directors.
