LMU’s Desmond Johnson Named Men’s Basketball Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. ­- Lincoln Memorial University's Desmond Johnson has been named the South Atlantic Conference men's basketball Player of the Week for the week ending December 12, 2010.

Johnson, a junior forward from Lynch, Ky. (Cumberland High School) led all players in LMU's 95-76 win at Glenville State Saturday evening. Johnson scored 29 points and pulled down 11 rebounds as the 24th-ranked Railsplitters improved to 8-0. He was 12-15 from the field, a perfect 1-1 from three point range and 4-6 from the free throw line.

Johnson currently leads the team in scoring (16.0 ppg) and is second in rebounding (8.0 rpg). His 70.8 percent shooting from the field also leads the team.
