Wingate’s Quan Alexander Named Men’s Basketball Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. ­- Wingate University's Quan Alexander has been named the South Atlantic Conference men's basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 2, 2011.

Alexander, a 6-5 sophomore forward from Charlotte, N.C. (Myers Park HS), had 17 points and seven rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to an 81-65 victory at Belmont Abbey in Wingate's only game of the week.

He made 8-of-13 shots from the floor and was 1-of-2 from the free-throw line. He also added one assist and a steal.

Alexander is second on the team with 12.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per game on the season.
