LMU, Wingate In NCAA Men’s Basketball Region Rankings
INDIANAPOLIS - South Atlantic Conference leader Lincoln Memorial University is ranked first in the NCAA Division II Southeast Region rankings.
Lincoln Memorial is 17-0 overall and 9-0 in conference play. The Railsplitters returned four starters from a team that went 20-9 last season.
Also ranked is Wingate University, coming in at number six in the region. The Bulldogs are 10-7 overall with a 5-4 conference record.
The regional rankings will be released weekly on Wednesdays through March 2, 2011.
Record are through Sunday, January 23.
Eight teams from each of the eight regions will advance to the NCAA Division II tournament. In the Southeast Region, the tournament champions from the SAC, Peach Belt, and Conference Carolinas will receive an automatic bid.
