LMU’s D’Mario Curry Named Men’s Basketball Player Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Lincoln Memorial University's D'Mario Curry has been named the South Atlantic Conference men's basketball Player of the Week for the week ending February 13, 2011.
Curry, a senior forward from Detroit, Michigan (Schoolcraft Community College), helped the No. 5 nationally ranked Railsplitters remain undefeated at 22-0 while offically clinching the 2010-11 South Atlantic Conference regular season title with victories over Mars Hill College on the road (71-68) and at home against Newberry College (84-72). Curry wins the award for the second time this season.
Against Mars Hill, Curry had 21 points and eight rebounds with two steals.
In Saturday evening's home win over the Wolves, Curry turned in a 17-point, 12-rebound performance to help the LMU men move to 22-0. He was 6-of-12 from the floor and made all five free-throw attempts, while also recording four blocked shots.
In addition to clinching the regular season title, the
Railsplitters also set the SAC record for regular season conference
wins with 14 wins.
