The Division II Bulletin preseason men's basketball fact sheet was released on Friday, with Lincoln Memorial earning a national ranking of No. 25 and Anderson senior Denzail Jones being named a Super 16 All-American.
Lincoln Memorial went 26-6 last season and finished second in the SAC with a 14-4 record. The Railsplitters earned their second-straight bid to the NCAA Division II Basketball Championship before being eliminated in the regional semifinals.
LMU returns 10 letterwinners from last season's team, including 2011-12 All-SAC Second Team selection Vincent Bailey, who averaged 10.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
The program's combined record of 53-9 over the past two seasons is the conference's best during that stretch.
Jones, meanwhile, was one of two players from the Southeast Region to earn a spot on the DII Bulletin Super 16 Preseason All-America Team.
Jones is coming off a phenomenal 2011-12 season in which he averaged 17.5 points, 3.33 assists and 2.30 steals per game en route to being named the SAC Player of the Year, SAC Tournament MVP and a Daktronics All-Region Selection.
The guard led Anderson to the regular-season SAC championship and an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament, where the Trojans fell one win short of reaching the Elite Eight.
