The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Basketball Players of the Week, Jan. 20

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba guard K.J. Arrington has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 12-18, the League announced today.

Arrington, a junior from Newport News, Va., averaged 27 points per outing and shot 58 percent from the field to lead the Catawba Indians to a pair of South Atlantic Conference wins last week.  He got his week started with 24 points on 50 percent from the floor and 57 percent from long range as Catawba defeated Coker 71-66 on Jan. 14.  He also added nine boards and three assists against the Cobras.  Three days later vs. Mars Hill, Arrington shot 83 percent from downtown and 66 percent from the floor as he poured in 30 points in an 86-63 win over the Lions.  He also came away with nine boards in the win.  The honor is his first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
