The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, Dec. 21
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Lincoln Memorial guard Jalen Steele has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 14-20, the League announced today.
Steele, a senior from Knoxville, Tenn., averaged 25.3 points per game to lead the No. 13 Railsplitters to three South Atlantic Conference wins last week. He highlighted his week with 40 points as he connected on 13-of-15 from the floor and 10-of-12 from downtown in a 115-94 win at Newberry on Dec. 19. He also came away with eight rebounds, three assists and a steal against the Wolves. His 10 three-pointers broke a 16 year-old South Atlantic Conference record for three-pointers in a single game. Steele got his week going with 23 points, nine rebounds, four helpers and four steals as Lincoln Memorial defeated Brevard on the road 88-67 on Dec. 14. Two days later vs. Wingate, he notched 13 points, six boards, four assists and a steal in a 103-57 win over Wingate. The award is his first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
