Lincoln Memorial Ranked No. 1 in NCAA Southeast Regional Poll; Four SAC Squads Represent the League in the Rankings
NCAA D-II Men's Basketball Regional Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted four teams in the NCAA Regional Men's Basketball Rankings, the NCAA announced today. Lincoln Memorial came in at the No. 1 position, while Queens earned the No. 2 spot. Wingate is currently No. 4 in the region and Lenoir-Rhyne wraps up the list for the South Atlantic Conference at No. 7.
The Railsplitters are currently ranked No. 3 in the nation by the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) and sport a record of 22-2 overall.
Queens is also ranked by the NABC as the Royals are currently No. 12 in Division II. Queens is 22-2 on the 2015-16 season.
Wingate is currently 19-7 on the year, while Lenoir-Rhyne is 17-8 this season.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections. The top eight teams in each region earn bids to the NCAA Men's Basketball Championship.
