The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, Dec. 19

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Newberry guard Marshall Lange has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 12-18, the League announced today.

Lange, a freshman from High Point, N.C., led Newberry to victories over South Atlantic Conference opponents Mars Hill and Lincoln Memorial last week. Lange scored a career-high 23 points and shot 8-for-13 in just 22 minutes in the 98-85 win over Mars Hill on December 14. He also recorded a career-high seven rebounds and added three assists and two steals. Lange played a huge role in Newberry's 107-102 upset at No. 23 Lincoln Memorial on December 17. Lange recorded 15 points and four rebounds, while dishing out an assist. Lange shot 56.6 percent from the floor and 50 percent from beyond the arc over the two contests. The award is his first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
