The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week, Jan. 3

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Brevard guard Jamarquis Johnson has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 19-Jan. 1, the League announced today.

Johnson, a freshman from Minneola, Fla., scored 23 points and shot 67 percent from the floor to lead the Tornados to an 80-76 win over North Greenville on Dec. 30.  He was also 75 percent from downtown as he connected on 6-of-8 shots.  Johnson added four boards to go along with four steals and a pair of assists in the win.  The honor marks his first Player of the Week nod this season.
