Lincoln Memorial is Ranked No. 1 in NCAA Southeast Regional Poll; Five SAC Squads Represent the League in the Rankings
NCAA D-II Men's Basketball Regional Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted five teams in the NCAA Regional Men's Basketball Rankings, the NCAA announced today. Lincoln Memorial came in at the No. 1 position, while Queens earned the No. 2 spot. Wingate is currently No. 8, Carson-Newman is ninth in the region and Catawba wraps up the list for the South Atlantic Conference at No. 10.
The Railsplitters are currently ranked No. 9 in the nation by the National Basketball Coaches Association (NABC) and sport a record of 24-4 in the Southeast Region.
Queens is also ranked in the Top 10 by the NABC as the Royals are currently No. 10 in Division II. The Royals are 24-3 in the region on the 2016-17 season.
Wingate is currently 19-9 in region play on the year, while Carson-Newman is 18-9 this season in the Southeast Region. Catawba is close behind the Eagles with a record of 18-10 in the region.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
