Four SAC Teams Ranked in NCAA Southeast Region Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference had four schools ranked in the first NCAA Southeast Region Men's Basketball poll of the 2019-20 season, which was released by the NCAA on Wednesday (Feb. 19). Lincoln Memorial earned the No. 1 spot in the poll, followed by Queens at No. 3, Catawba at No. 4 and Tusculum came in at No. 10.
In addition to the four SAC schools ranked in this week's poll, there are four schools from the Peach Belt and two from Conference Carolinas.
The Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters earned the top spot in the ranking with a record of 25-1 overall. The Railsplitters are currently riding a program and SAC record 25-game winning streak dating back to November 2, 2019.
Queens and Catawba have identical 18-6 overall records. The Royals of Queens have won four games in a row, while the Catawba Indians have won their last seven straight.
Tusculum enters the ranking with an overall record of 16-10, having won their last two consecutive games.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
