Wingate's Cottingham Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate guard Jarren Cottingham has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week four of the 2021-22 season, the Conference announced today. 

Cottingham, a junior from Cincinnati, Ohio, had an impressive week, as he led the Bulldogs to a 3-0 record, including wins over SAC foes Limestone and Catawba. He started the week with an 11 point and six rebound performance versus USC Aiken, and then scored 20 points with six rebounds and three steals against Limestone. Cottingham closed out the week with 24 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals versus Catawba, including an assist on the game-winning three-pointer as time expired. For the week he averaged 18.3 points, six rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.7 steals.

This is Cottingham's first player of the week selection this season.
